Congratulations! Prof. Amine Bermak has been elected as an IEEE Fellow, in 2013.
The supervisor of our laboratory, Prof. Amine Bermak, has been elavated to the most prestigious class of the world's largest electronic engineer's association, IEEE. The citation states that he was recognized for his contribution to sensing and processing of vision and olfactory circuits and systems.

Michael G. Gale Medal for Distinguished Teaching 2011
Prof. Amine Bermak has been awarded the Michael G. Gale Medal for Distinguished Teaching 2011
Prof. Amine Bermak of ECE has been selected as the Michael G. Gale Medal recipient in 2011 for his excellence in teaching. This is the highest recognition for teaching at HKUST and it is a real honor for Prof. Bermak and the Department.
Prof. Bermak has been a very dedicated teacher for many years and has contributed significantly to curriculum development, course development, teaching quality and has also been heavily involved in the administration of CPEG including being its previous director.
The Michael G. Gale Medal for Distinguished Teaching at HKUST was established by the University Council in 1994 to commemorate the late Founding Council Member, Mr Michael G. Gale, for his distinguished service and outstanding contributions to the development of the University.
The Medal is awarded each year at the University's Congregation to a member of the academic staff who best exemplifies continued pursuit of excellence, devotion to teaching, and the ability to inspire and motivate others. The recipient is representative of the high quality of teaching and learning that the University offers and promotes.

Paper by Fang Tang was ranked among the Top 25 Most Downloaded Papers on the IEEE Sensors Journal
The paper published by Prof. Amine Bermak and his postgraduate student Frank Tang of ECE was ranked among the top 25 most downloaded papers on the IEEE Sensors Journal (Volume 12, Issue 4). The paper is entitled "An 84 pW/Frame Per Pixel Current-Mode CMOS Image Sensor With Energy Harvesting Capability."

2004 IEEE Chester Sall Award
Professor A. Bermak is the winner of the 2004 IEEE Chester Sall Award.

Professor A. Bermak and his PhD student Shoushun Chen are the recipients of the Best Paper Award at the 5th International Workshop on System-On-Chip for Real-Time Applications IWSOC05 , held in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

Best Student Paper Award in ISCAS2010
Professor A. Bermak and his PhD student Kwan Ting Ng are the recipients of the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and systems ISCAS, Paris, France, 2010 (the conference featured 1081 papers and our paper received the first prize).
